By train through tea plantations<\/strong><\/p>\n

The train ride from Kandy to Ella \u2013 or vice versa \u2013 is one of the highlights of a Sri Lanka round trip. The train leisurely rattles past lush tea plantations, waterfalls, and small villages, and on clear days the view stretches all the way to the Indian Ocean. If you don\u2019t want to travel the entire route, you can take only sections of it and combine them ideally with a visit to Nuwara Eliya, the highest city in Sri Lanka, or with hikes through the tea plantations.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n
